THE HOME BUILDER

The quarterly web post that offers insight into member-exclusive opportunities!

Executive Officer Message

Belonging to a Home Building Association is a fundamental step for professionals in the home building industry. CWHBA members gain access to greater resources and industry-specific networking while contributing to the champion efforts that help us promote industry-friendly lawmaking.

Our recent visit to Capitol Hill in Olympia perfectly exemplifies this advocacy. Alongside members from HBAs across Washington, CWHBA member leaders participated in BIAW’s Builder Legislative Action Day. We had the opportunity to meet with the House and Senate representatives to advocate for pro-housing and pro-business policies, which will benefit both members and the wider community. Thank you to all of the players who participated in this effort. Your commitment to our cause is inspiring.

We hosted the 38th Central Washington Home & Garden Show event in March with great success. This annual event allows local businesses to connect with the general public, generate new leads, make sales, and build relationships with potential clients. Exhibitor feedback indicated this show’s success, and we would like to thank everyone who contributed to the event’s success, from the organizers to the participants. We could not have achieved such a positive outcome without your support.

Finally, I am pleased to announce that we continue growing our association committees. These meetings of industry professionals allow members to participate in important initiatives, have their voices heard, and take an active role in shaping the future of our industry. WE NEED YOU to help navigate that effort, so I invite you to consider connecting to a member committee that interests you:

  • Government Affairs Committee: Support industry policies and local partnerships that ease home builder challenges and pain points.
  • Membership Committee: Build and grow the CWHBA network of area businesses and guide new program development.
  • Workforce Development Committee: Inspire the next generation of skilled workers and develop clear onramps to careers in construction.

In light of these recent achievements, it is clear that our Association is a vital force in advancing the interests of our industry. As we continue to grow and expand, it is more important than ever that we remain united in our efforts to promote the growth and success of the home-building industry. I am confident that together, we will continue to achieve great things.

Sincerely,

M. Lindsay Brown, CWHBA Executive Officer
