When designing this home for the site and addressing the elevated green, the designer, Mindi Person of Eastlake Design, L.L.C., chose a plan with the main living space “Up” to include beautifully vaulted spaces of Living, Dining, Kitchen and the Master Suite. This also includes expansive decks and covered porches on the upper level to take advantage of the views of the green and down the fairway to the east to the mountains. The design goal is to make the resident feel as if you are living up within the trees and has a light and airy quality. The lower floor has extra tall ceilings for the large entertaining space and secondary bedrooms that create an entertaining home that can sleep as many as 12+. In addition, designed to include an oversized 3 car garage as more families are becoming full time residents, as well as those vacationers who need space for multiple cars and sporting equipment.

The meticulous construction by the team at Northwest Roots Construction further enhances exterior lines that are uncomplicated and include exposed large-scale beams, stone and steel accents, while the black metal roof enhances the pioneering vernacular and will last for generations. At the front elevation and entry, the design includes a large entertainment landing with a gas fireplace is wrapped with stone and blackened cedar surround. This outdoor room with stone façade base, grounds the structure and provides natural stepping of the façade and allows a respite as guests enter the home and lovely views of the front yard and landscape. The rear decks are all east facing which will take advantage of the morning sun in the east, while providing shade in the hot summer afternoons and evenings, also providing shelter from the prevailing southern and westerly winds during cooler months. The rear yard has a protected feel from the lower level, behind the berm at the green and includes a fire pit area as well as covered porches for sitting and recreation.

Great attention was given to the play of natural light in this home. On the east “entertainment” side of the home near the kitchen and great room – the windows and doors are extra large – with special attention to transom and clerestory window natural light as this side of the home primarily faces northeast. Both the great room and entertaining space below include double sliding doors to let the outside in.
